Are SARMs legal in Europe?

Are SARMS legal in Europe

There seems to be some confusion about the legal status of SARMs in various countries. The main reason for this confusion is caused by a bill that is waiting to be passed in the USA. It’s called the SARMs control act. If this bill is passed, it will put some SARMs (YK-11 and S-23) in the same category as steroids which means they will be illegal.

There is a big chance that most European countries will propably follow the USA making these specific SARMS illegal in European countries.

As of 2020, all SARMS are legal to buy in every European country. While the least researched SARMS such as YK11 and S23 will most likely be illegal somewhere in the near future, this is most likely not the case for the other ones.

SARMs like Ostarine (MK-2866), Ligandrol (LGD-4033), Testolone (RAD-140) are unlikely to get banned because of there promising research results. The same is true for MK-677, Cardarine, and SR-9009.

All of these substances are legal in The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Ireland, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and all the other European countries.

Although MK-677, also known as Ibutamoren, is not actually a SARM. While a lot of people mistake it for a SARM, it is actually a growth hormone secretagogue. As far as the legal status goes, MK-677 is completely legal in every European country to buy and own.

While MK 677 can only be sold as a research chemical and not for human consumption, it is undergoing clinical trials because of it’s amazing potential and positive results in research. This means that MK-677 will propably remain legal forever.

THE USE OF MK-677 in sports

It’s worth mentioning that MK 677, just like SARMs and Cardarine, is prohibited in competitive sports because of the unfair advantages that it provides. It’s listed as a banned substance by the USADA (the United States Anti-Doping Agency) and the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency).

Just like MK-677, Cardarine (GW-501516) is often confused for being a SARM. In reality, it’s a PPARδ receptor agonist. But is it legal?

The short answer is: Yes, Cardarine is completely legal to purchase and own in every European country. While Cardarine can not be sold as a supplement and is strictly for research purposes and not for human consumption, it is and will most likely be legal to purchase and buy.

Just like most SARMS, Cardarine is banned for use in competitive sports because it is considered doping by USADA (the United States Anti-Doping Agency) and the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency). The powerful performance-enhancing effects of this compound make it’s use prohibited by all professional sports organizations.

All SARMs, as well as related compounds such as MK-677, Cardarine and SR-9009 are not approved by the FDA and can only be sold for research purposes. They are NOT intended for human consumption and are not allowed to be sold as supplements.
